Nainital

Nainital is situated at a height of 1938 meters in the Central Himalayas of Uttarachal State. Mr P Barron of Shahjahanpur known as a Pilgrim was the first man who discovered this place. Nainital is also known as Tri-Rishi- Sarover. It is also said that the eye of Sati the spouse of Lord Shiva has fallen at this place. Therefore, the name is given Nayana Tal or Nainital.

The Lake of Nainital is surrounded by seven peaks. The lush green valley, dotted with beautiful bungalows and houses covered with Deodar, Oak, Surai and other trees have beckoned lovers of nature since ages.

The lake offers boating, yachting, paddle boating and rowing. One can also enjoy horse riding from Barapathar side. The famous temple of Nayana Devi, Pashan Devi, Gupha Mahadev, Hanuman Temple are great attraction to the visitors.

Naini Peak (2610 mtrs): It is the highest Peak of all situated at a height of 2610 meters and 5.5. kms away from town commands the finest view and, on a clear day, a wide range of the snow clad Himalayas is visible while from the summit is bird’s eye of Nainital. Today, many people trek to China Peak in order to avail themselves an extra dose of adventure. The trek is easy one, where you will pass through thick Deodar, Cypress and Pine forest.

Snow View (2270 Mtrs): A scenic place and accessible by foot or on horse-back and rope way. It gives a panoramic view of 350 kms of the Himalayan ranges. A trip to Snowview brings breath of fresh air and enjoyment of the scenic beauty.There is a huge Binoculars at this spot to view the Nainital town closely, as well the valley regions. Snowview has a temple. Tea, Snacks, Photographers are available at this spot. You Can Visit Snow view on foot, by taxi or by rope way.

Tiffin Top / Dorothy’s Seat (2292 mtrs): Set at an elevation of about 2,290 meters in the Ayarpatta hills, Tiffin Top isa famous vantage point in the scenic hill station of Nainital. This picnic spot is fondly known as Dorothy’s seat, in the loving memory of the eminent painter Kellet Dorothy. A cobblestoned walkway leads you up to Tiffin Top which can be a tiring trek, those travelling with their families opt for a horseback ride all the way up.

Caves Garden: The garden has six caves and a musical fountain operating during the best season. You can make your viswit to Nainital a memorable one with a trip to these gardens wherein you can introduce your child to an eco-friendly life.

High Altitude Zoo (2075 mtrs): At a distance of 1.5 kms from the hotel, it is famous for animals that live in high altitude regions. Each Free entry is provided for senior citizens and disabled people. The Zoo remains closed on Mondays and on all National Holidays.

Khurpatal: A real paradise for anglers, the lake is inhabited by a number of fishes. It is 5 kms from the hotel. It is considered to be anglers paradise having clear water and a good harvest of fishes. The route to Khurpatal is lined with tall trees.

Kilbury (2528 mtrs): Kilbury is a good place for a quite weekend holiday and picnic. A forest rest house is also available for stay. 15 kms from the hotel.

Hanumangarhi (1951 mtrs): It is a religious centre and is well known for its sunset view. 3.5 kms from the hotel.

Lands-End (2118 mtrs): A magnificent view of Khurpatal and the terraced field on the hill side is available from here. 4.08 Kms from the hotel.

State Observatory (1951 mtrs): Devoted to astronomical studies and optical tracking of artificial earth satellites. 4.4 kms from the hotel. Governor’s House: The Governor’s House in Nainital is precisely the example of brits love for their country. This building resembles a lot to the majestic Buckingham Palace in London and thus becomes one of the prime attractions in Nainital. Built in 1900 in Gothic-style of architecture, this majestic building still maintains its charm and now has an 18-hole golf course as well. Who wants to go to London, when we have our own version of Buckingham Palace?
